Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Hello! It’s the traditional Damage Control Christmas post, and the only time of the year where I get to speak for everyone who writes for the blog: Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone reading. Don’t feel bad if you celebrate something other than Christmas, unlike how some people want you to think.

Since I enjoyed Persona 5 this year, and because it’s graced so many Game of the Year lists, it was fitting to use a Persona 5 Christmas banner for this year’s post, which features Caroline and Justine from the Velvet Room. Though the game has free Christmas-themed outfits, it followed in the footsteps of previous Persona games in not having any special music for Christmas. Though in fairness, festive music would have been out of place given what happens around that time during the game.

Instead, have “Green Sleeves” from Xenosaga Episode I, a rendition of “What Child is This?” from the game that I only remembered when I was revisiting the soundtrack a month ago. I originally planned on using a Christmas rendition of a Final Fantasy VII track, but Square Enix apparently went through painstaking effort to remove it from YouTube. Shame, but this is a fine substitute.

Anyway, take it easy today if you can. We all need some relaxation time, especially in a year as constantly rough as this one.
